A close family friend is a pilot (many of them are) and decided to turn a large chunk of his land off the southern side of the Kenai River into top notch airpark real estate.
That’s right, landing on a private strip and taxiing right into your own hanger.
Now, air parks aren’t anything new in Alaska but Kalifonsky Meadows Airpark is the Kenai Peninsulas premier airpark real estate for private pilots to enjoy flying out of their own strip from the front door of their own airpark residence. I‘ve walked around it with my dad and Dave since before the grass had even been planted and let me tell you, with a groomed grass strip, fenced border with electric gate for a secure airpark and taxiways along the airstrip right up to your property, it is ready to have your cabin or house with your private hanger built.
It’s the largest privately owned airpark in Alaska and it’s in a very convenient location just about 15 minutes from the cities of Kenai (and it’s full airport with service from Anchorage) and Soldotna and less than 10 minutes from Kenai river fishing. You can see how close the mouth of the Kenai River is in the photo at the top of this page.
Before your tires even stop spinning after your takeoff from your groomed grass strip the salmon filled Kenai River, majestic Mt. Redoubt and the whole of the Cook Inlet are staring you in the face and you are only a 30-60 minute flight away from some of the best fishing, hunting and sights that the world has to offer anywhere. Period.
In these early stages of development, there are no homes built that are for sale (that I know of, I’ll check with Dave and let you know here). But with the affordability of the lots and our connections with local builders, you could have a house built for MUCH less than it would take to buy one already built.
The units outside the airpark have underground:
